About Us
Atlantic Education International (AEI) is a New Brunswick Crown corporation that connects students and schools around the world with the province’s Anglophone public education system and curriculum.
AEI delivers international education through two core programs: the New Brunswick International Student Program and the New Brunswick Offshore Schools Program. Working with students, families, host families, educators, schools and international partners, our team creates high-quality educational experiences grounded in care, trust and human connection.
A People-Driven Approach to Learning
At AEI, we believe that the heart of education lies in human connections. Rooted in values of quality, hospitality, and compassion, our people-first approach ensures learners receive the support and resources they need to excel. Whether welcoming students to New Brunswick or partnering with schools abroad, we work closely with schools, families, and educators to provide personalized, enriching educational journeys.
For nearly 30 years, AEI has been a leader in fostering international collaboration and helping students and institutions around the world access New Brunswick’s renowned educational resources. Through these partnerships, we strengthen not only the academic outcomes of students but also create lasting educational, economic, and social benefits for communities.
Our Programs: Expanding Global Access to Education
New Brunswick International Student Program
The New Brunswick International Student Program (NBISP) welcomes international students aged 11 to 18 to study in New Brunswick’s Anglophone public schools while living with local host families.
Students experience New Brunswick education, culture and community with support from AEI, participating school districts and homestay families.
New Brunswick Offshore Schools Program
Through the New Brunswick Offshore Schools Program (NBOSP), AEI accredits and supports schools outside the province to deliver the New Brunswick Anglophone curriculum.
Partner schools receive guidance, professional learning and quality assurance support from experienced New Brunswick educators. Students who meet provincial graduation requirements can earn a New Brunswick high school diploma while studying in their home country.
Your Path to Accreditation
Becoming an accredited New Brunswick curriculum school is a collaborative process that takes approximately two years. AEI’s dedicated team supports you every step of the way, helping you implement the program and achieve successful outcomes for students.
Once accredited, your school will be listed on the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials website, ensuring global recognition of your program.

Our Purpose
AEI exists to enrich the lives of individuals and communities, at home and around the world, by expanding access to meaningful educational experiences.
By welcoming international students to New Brunswick and sharing the province’s curriculum internationally, AEI builds global connections and creates educational, social and economic benefits. Revenue generated outside the province is reinvested to support New Brunswick’s public education system and economy.
Our History
Celebrating 30 years of excellence, Atlantic Education International (AEI) connects students worldwide with the best of New Brunswick: exceptional public education, safe and welcoming communities, and genuine Canadian experiences that shape futures.
Founded by the Province of New Brunswick in 1997, AEI is the province’s official agent for international education programs. Authorized by the Anglophone Sector of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, our team promotes and delivers New Brunswick’s educational programs and resources to a global audience. We connect international learners with bilingual public schools and open doors to the New Brunswick curriculum worldwide.
AEI has become a leader in international education, operating flagship initiatives such as the New Brunswick International Student Program (NBISP) and the Offshore Schools Program (NBOSP). As a Crown corporation, AEI generates revenue from outside the province and reinvests it to strengthen New Brunswick’s education system and support the local economy.
Our impact shows up in student success: access to world-class education, strong graduation rates, and diverse school communities enriched by cultural exchange, homestay experiences, and deep connections to New Brunswick’s people, culture, and environment.
